Biography
Dr. Y. Soujanya has obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi and Ph.D. from University of Hyderabad. After successful completion of post-doctoral research positions in France and Canada, she moved to IICT, Hyderabad to take up scientist position in 2004. As a team member of molecular modeling group, research interests lies in the application of various computational methodologies to problems of research interests in organic chemistry, bio-organic and material chemistry and support has been extended to several scientific groups in IICT. Dr. Soujanya has now 50 papers to her credit published in international journals and three on-going sponsored research projects from DST and BRNS.
Research Interest
Research interests is mainly in the design of materials for solar cell applications and novel eco-friendly materials for CO2 adsorption. The emphasis is in understanding various processes of light to current conversion involved in photovoltaic cells. We demonstrated the significance of naturally occurring amino acids (AAs) towards the absorption of greenhouse gas, CO2, which is an important study in design of new adsorbents based on AAs.
