Dr. V.S.K. Rao is affiliated to the Department of Chemical Technology, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology . Dr. V.S.K. Rao is currently providing services as Principal Scientist. Dr. V.S.K. Rao has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented works at many national and International conferences. Dr. V.S.K. Rao contributions have acclaimed recognition from honourable subject experts around the world. Dr. V.S.K. Rao is actively associated with different societies and academies. Dr. V.S.K. Rao academic career is decorated with several reputed awards and funding. Dr. V.S.K. Rao research interests include Screening of unknown and lesser known oilseed • Development of alternative methodologies for the preparation of biodiesel from a variety feed stocks using both conventional, non-conventional and bio-catalysts •Development of novel methodologies for the refining of vegetable oils •Preparation of novel surfactants from castor oil, plant proteins and fatty acid derivatives •Development of methodologies for the preparation of lubricant base stocks from vegetable oils particularly from castor oil •Modification of phospholipids using chemical and enzymatic routes •Value added products from the by-products of vegetable oils and oilseeds processing industries •Isolation and characterization of bioactive lipid molecules from a variety of plants •Modification of lipids for specialty applications •Development of newer analytical methods.
