Biography

M.Sc. Geology (1987) and Ph.D (2001), HNB, University, Garhwal, PG Diploma in Remote Sensing (1993-94), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. Working as Assistant Professor, School of Environment and Natural Resources, Doon University, DDun, Uttarakhand. Served in various institutions like; CBRI, Roorkee, WII and PSI, DDun, NRDMS Centre, Almora, Kumaun University, NRDMS Centre, Department of Remote Sensing, BIT Mesra, Ranchi and Academy of Administration, Nainital, Govt. of Uttarakhand. recipient of MyCOE/SERVIR HIMALAYA fellowship, visited countries like; Beijing (2004), Wellington, New Zealand (2008), Thailand, Singapore and Australia (2008) and ICIMOD, Nepal (2013) for paper presentations, trainer’s development programmes and customized capacity training in GIS, RS and GPS respectively. Out of 51 publications, 24 research papers in different journals of repute, 4 books (2 International and 2 National) as an author cum chief editor respectively and 8 chapters in different books, 5 conference proceedings (full papers) along with 10 publications as articles, notes and others are in his credit. He has also been designated as Deputy Registrar, HOD In-charge of School of Environmental Studies, Doon University and Chairman, State Draft Committee in 2010 for preparing State Crises Management Plan and Standard Operation Procedures, Govt. of Uttarakhand and State Academic Coordinator and Evaluator National Children Science Congress, DST, Govt. of India. Also serving as a reviewer of International Journals.

His main research interests include Geology, Geomorphology, Natural Resource Management, database creation & Habitat Analysis using RS/GIS, Disaster Management
