Biography
Linda Edwards is the President and CEO of Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (Edwards-Pitman) located in Smyrna, Georgia, an environmental consulting firm that she started in 1994. She has over 30 years of experience in the fields of project development, engineering design, and a wide range of environmental services. Linda received her Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1985. Edwards-Pitman is a sole-source provider of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) services and documentation with expertise in the fields of ecology, air, noise, history, and archaeology. The firm is certified as a woman-owned, Disadvantaged, and Small Business Enterprise with a host of agencies throughout the southeast. In 2014, Linda’s firm celebrated 20-years of success providing excellent, comprehensive environmental services to a wide variety of clients, including the Georgia Department of Transportation, other state DOTs; MARTA; Atlanta Beltline Inc.; Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and multiple federal and local transportation agencies. Over her distinguished career, Linda has received several awards of recognition. In 2008, Linda was recognized by the Mayor of Atlanta for significant contributions to the city’s successful diversity program. She earned a Female Business Enterprise (FBE) Phoenix Trailblazer Award, and was inducted into the city’s Women Flying High program for her years of professional service to the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. In just this past decade, her firm has been the recipient of multiple project excellence awards from the Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality (GPTQ). In 2009, Linda received the Employer of the Year award from Women’s Transportation Seminar, and is currently a mentor with that organization’s Mentor-Protégé Program (Atlanta Chapter).
