Biography
Navtez Singh Bal specialises in turnaround and transformation programs and leads McKinsey’s Capital Productivity Practice in India. He also leads our capital productivity work in the global basic materials sector. Since joining McKinsey in 2000, Navtez has supported global majors across sectors including automotive, power, and metals and mining—on a range of topics including strategy development, business building, operations transformation, and organisation redesign. For example, he helped a leading metals and mining players improve its operating performance across all its business units in Asia and Africa; supported a leading industrials company in defining and executing a performance transformation roadmap; and led a year-long operations turnaround for a global automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in Asia. He also led the operations transformation for a global high tech player, which involved the design of a new operating system followed by rapid roll-out across the entire organisation. Other experience includes supporting a leading airport developer in optimising the construction of a new, world-class airport; advising a global chemicals player on its inorganic expansion in Asia; and defining the growth strategy for a leading Indian telecom player across its existing and new businesses. Before joining McKinsey, Navtez worked with the business consulting group at Arthur Andersen and the supply chain group at Nestlé.
