Biography
Major General G G Dwivedi, SM, VSM & BAR retired as Assistant Chief Integrated Defence Staff in 2009, afte r 38 years of distinguished service in the Army (Infantry). A veteran of Bangladesh War, he carries vast experience by virtue of numerous operational, staff and instructional assignments. He holds M Sc Defence Studies and dual M Phil in Defence and Str ategic Studies from Madras University and Ph D in I nternational Relations from JNU, New Delhi . Besides Interpretership in Chinese from the School of Foreign Languages, he obtained Art & Practice of Leadership Development from Harvard Kennedy School , Leader ship in Public Life from Kan sas Leadership Centre, USA and Diploma in Management Studies from IGNOU. He has authored two books on Military History and edited book on Leadership; published over 50 articl es including book chapters on G eo S trategy and Securi ty , International R elations and L eadership, in the leading professional journals and national dailies. An alumnus of prestigious National Defence College, Prof Dwivedi has been on the faculty of Indian Military Academy Dehradun and Defence Services Staff College Wellington. He is a visiting faculty at Foreign Services Institute Delhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie Himachal Institute of Public Administration, IIM Kashipur, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, Lal Bah adur Shastri Institute of Management Delhi , Punjab University Chandigarh and UGC - AMU Academic Staff College. Member , of renowned think tank institutes/centres, he regularly guest speaks at premier centres of excellence both in India and abroad and frequent ly appears on National TV as a panelist .
