Biography
Professor AK Pasha teaches at the Centre for West Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where he has served as Chairperson and is now Director, Gulf Studies. He has also been Director, Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, Cairo, Egypt. He has authored, edited and co-edited and contributed chapters to over sixty books published in India and abroad on India, Gulf, West Asia and North Africa. His research articles have been published in numerous national and international journals. After graduating from St Philomena’s College, Mysore he obtained M.A. Degrees in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science from Mysore University; M.Phil and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has previously taught at the Centre of West Asian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, India. He had been a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, Egypt. He is associated with Gulf Research Centre, Dubai, UAE. His research, teaching and writing focused on West Asia and North Africa. He is on the editorial board of several national and international journals. He is a frequent commentator/analyst on international affairs especially on West Asian and North African issues for Radio and TV in India and abroad.
