Dr. Ashwani Kumar is an Assistant Professor at Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, India.
Research Interest
Area of research is to study the radiographic and ultrasonographic features of thoracic and abdominal disorders and ultrasound guided biopsy in large animals and their surgical treatment. Ultrasonography is being used to differentially diagnose reticular and allied disorders like reticular diaphragmatic hernia, perireticular abscess, diffuse peritonitis, reticulitis and reticulophrenic adhesions, pleural and pericardial effusions. Presently working on ultrasonographic features of healthy and impacted omasum in cows and buffaloes. Imaging of liver, kidney, spleen, intestines of cows and buffaloes is another area of interest. Also associated with research on diagnosis and surgical management of ophthalmic affections and colour Doppler ultrasonography of major blood vessels in large animals.
