Research Interest
Area of research interest includes Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Developed basic format to pre-analyse the prognosis and to select treatment strategy in uterine torsion cases; this improved survival rate, and is in practice throughout the state. Developed protocol for oestrus induction in buffaloes using PGF2ï¡ by two routes viz., intramuscular and intravulvosubmucosal. Conception rates were similar at observed and pre-determined insemination schedules using intramuscular route. Developed protocol for combined use of PRID and PMSG to insure good ovulatory response and fertility in anoestrus buffaloes. Also completed Commonwealth Post-doctorate research focused on immunology of the bovine uterus; population of inflammatory cells, concentration of Igs, and density of Ig-producing cells within the uterus were investigated in relation to the stage of the oestrous cycle. Established for the first time a close association between leptospirosis infection and subfertility in UK dairy cows.
