Research Interest
The work was undertaken to observe the formation of primordia and further development into organs of urinary, male and female genital, cardiovascular and nervous system of buffalo. Although, most of the organs develop at 47-50 day of foetal life, but brain and heart was first organs to develop at 25-30 day. Besides this, studies have been conducted on the prenatal development of tassal glands in goat, thyroid gland, tongue and guttural pouch of foal. The work has been conducted on the formation and atresia of primordial, primary, secondary and Graafian follicles during different phases of reproductive stage in buffalo. It was concluded that higher rate of atresia in Graafian follicles of buffalo may be the reason for low reproductive efficiency of these animals. The research made on the localization of sperm host gland in Punjab White Quail revealed that the SHG were present at uterovaginal junction as simple branched tubular glands and were lined by pseudostratified columnar epithelium with ciliated, non ciliated cells, goblet cells and basal cells whereas distal part of the gland was lined by non ciliated columnar cells.
