Dr. Shitanshu Shekhar Rath is a Professor-cum-Head at Department of Veterinary Parasitology, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, India.
Research Interest
Veterinary Parasitology with special reference to Veterinary Entomology and Acarology. Contributed in carrying out research on resistance to acaricides, a basic problem of the farmers in Punjab. A baseline data was generated pertaining to this area for further research Accessibility of efficiency of acaricides will hold the key for control of ticks. Studies were carried out in mange mite regarding efficacy of miticides and ivermectin proved to be choice of treatment except against demodectic mange. Molecular diagnosis of blood protozoan parasites was done with the help of PCR on vector ticks to study the enzootic stability of vector borne diseases. Epidemiological studies for gastro-intestinal parasites in different agro-climatic zones of Punjab. A baseline data has been generated to study about future research applications.
