Biography
Ms. Alka Ekka is an Assistant Professor at Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur, India. Her ongoing projects are: Project: Exploration of exopolysaccharides producing novel bacterial/fungal strain from the Chhattisgarh having potent Biotechnological application from UGC.
Research Interest
Her research is focused on various aspects of microbial technology, specially in microbial exopolysachharides, produced from microbes isolated from oil contaminated soil, coal mines, and sugarcane and rice field. I have optimized the conditions for higher production of exopolysaccharides from isolated microorganisms and using of agro-industrial wastes for production. Extracted and purified exopolysachharides also used for some industrial purpose.
