Biography
Recipient of the National Science Talent Scholarship in 1970 which allowed him to complete his BSc (Hons), MSc and PhD with scholarship. Started his research on buffalo milk protein Kappa Casein and lectins 1 . Established the first protein sequencing laboratory in India between 1975-79 at CFTRI, Mysore.GOI scholarship enabled him to work at Imperial College of Science and Technology on large scale purification of enzyme from 70 Kg bacterial paste from a fermentor. Returned back to join CCMB, Hyderabad as Scientist C to establish a world class protein chemistry laboratory in 1982. Initiated the early work on understanding the role of Ubiquitin in cellular process. The facility had 5 HPLC, Amino acid analyzer and Applied Biosystems sequencer during 1983 to 1985.
