Biography
Plant signal transduction, gene expression and metabolic regulation/engineering, apart from scientific writing and policy research. The main research focus of his lab has been in the functional biology of nitrogen metabolism in rice and Spirulina (Arthrospira), using a combination of biochemical, molecular, genetic, genomic and bioinformatic approaches. Another area of interest has been in the functional genomics of G-protein and GPCR signalling in rice and Arabidopsis. He also collaborates with biomedical scientists, computational physicists and biologists. His broader interests include health, education, science dissemination and policy.
