Biography
Dr. Parmar is currently Professor in the Civil Engineering Department and Dean of Academic Affairs at Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur, India wherein he has been teaching and conducting research since December 1999. He has held the office of Head (Civil Engineering) twice from July 2001 to July 2003 and then from October 2012 to October 2015. His early years were in Jaipur where he did his schooling from Central School. Subsequently, he did his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Surat (formerly SVREC Surat); M.Tech (Water Resources Engineering) and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Prior to joining his current assignment, he was in MECON (I) Limited, New Delhi and Delhi Technological University (formerly DCE Delhi). His current research areas include mathematical modeling of environmental and water resources systems. Specifically he works in River water quality modeling, water distribution systems and application of statistical methods in environmental and water resources.
