Anil Chanana

Biography

Anil Chanana is the Chief Financial Officer at HCL Technologies. He is a finance professional with over three decades of experience spanning the entire gamut of finance with additional responsibility of overseeing Global Procurement, Campus Infrastructure development and Legal & Compliance function. During his tenure with HCL, he has held several leadership positions looking after strategic initiatives, financial planning, treasury, insurance, global taxation, investor relations, business finance, contracting, legal and compliances. Anil was part of the core strategic group when HCL decided to venture into IT Services business in 1999. He played a key part in forging joint ventures with global corporations including Deluxe Corporation, Perot Systems Corporation, Deutsche Bank, and British Telecom. These partnerships and strategic initiatives like Engineering and Infrastructure services have been the platform for the company’s growth as a diversified services company with USD 7.2 billion in annual revenues. He has been a strong proponent of Corporate Governance Practices and works closely with the Board. It is this passion which has led to HCL Technologies being awarded the ‘National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance in 2012’. On the personal front, he has been conferred with India's most prestigious awards for the ‘Best Performing CFO in the IT & ITES Sector-2012’ by the CNBC-TV18 CFO Awards 2012-13 and prestigious ICAI Award 2015 under the CA CFO- Information Technology Sector category He is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and attended an executive program in Finance from Stanford University. He has participated in various programs including the Leadership Program conducted by Hewlett-Packard throughout the professional career. He is married and has two daughters. He is an avid reader and loves to cook as a way to keep off pressure of hectic schedules and business travels.
