Biography
Darren Oberst is Executive Vice President - Product & Platforms, with business responsibility for inorganic strategy, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments and carve-outs for HCL Technologies. As part of these responsibilities, Darren and his team manage the firm’s business relationships with private equity firms, investment banks, and other senior board-level strategic advisors across the world.Prior to joining HCL Technologies in 2014, Darren was a Vice President at IBM, serving in a diverse set of sales, strategy, business development and general manager roles across software, IT services, and BPO. Darren had the unique distinction of leading billion-dollar portfolios in both software and services at different times in his IBM career, and launched and ran businesses in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with international postings in India, China, and Spain. Darren started his career in the Silicon Valley as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens, serving as Managing Director and Group Head of the Software corporate finance practice, completing over 40 equity and M&A transactions. Darren has a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School, and a B.A. summa cum laude from UC-Berkeley with dual degrees in Physics and Philosophy.
