Biography
Dr. Sugata Chatterjee, is a brilliant organic chemist who did his Ph.D. work in 1984, under the supervision of 2010 Nobel Laureate Professor E. Negishi, in the department of Chemistry, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, U.S.A. He had his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Presidency College, Calcutta and University College of Science and Technology, Calcutta. He was a straight A student throughout and a National Scholar of the Ministry of Education, Government of India (1969 – 1975). He went to the U.S.A. as a recipient of National Scholarship (1978 – 1982) for Study Abroad. Dr. Chatterjee has 28+ years of experience in esteemed pharmaceutical industries, Hoechst AG , Merck KGaA, Wyeth-Ayerst International, Lupin Laboratories Limited, Shasun Pharmaceuticals, Dai-ichi-Karkaria Limited and Sterling Biotech Limited. He owns twenty eight internationally granted patents and twenty nine international publications. Dr. Chatterjee is a synthetic and structural organic chemist with profound practical experience in instrumentation, manufacturing, as well as quality and regulatory affairs.
