Mr.narayan Aditya

Biography

Mr. Narayan Aditya served as the Managing Director of Hindustan Zinc Limited since September 2005 and served as its Managing Director until March 31, 2005. Mr. Narayan served as a Corporate Planning Manager of the ICI PLC's Group Headquarters, London. He served as the Managing Director of Akzo Nobel India Limited (formerly, ICI India Limited) since August 1, 1996 and served in that role from August 1, 2001 to April 1, 2003. Mr. Narayan joined as a Management Trainee in ICI India Limited in August 1973 and held several senior positions in its erstwhile Fertilizers and Explosives businesses. He worked at Chand Chaap Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd. He served as Chief Executive Officer of different businesses of Indian Explosives Limited from 1990 to 1995. Mr. Narayan served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of BHP Billiton India from 2005 to 2009 before served as its Non-executive Chairman from 2009 to 2011. He has been the Chairman of Sanofi India Limited since April 30, 2016. Mr. Narayan has been Non Executive Chairman of ICI India Research & Technology Centre since April 3, 2003. He served as the Non Executive Chairman of Akzo Nobel India Limited from April 3, 2003 to September 30, 2010. He has been an Independent Director of Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited since April 1, 2015. He serves as a Member of Supervisory Board at Anand Automotive Systems Limited (also known as Anand Group India). He has been an Independent Director at Hindustan Unilever Limited since June 29, 2001. He serves as a Director of BOC India Limited and LIC Nomura Mutual Fund AMC Ltd. He has been an Independent Director of Linde India Limited since February 9, 2012 and Sanofi India Limited since April 30, 2016. He served as a Director of Hindustan ZInc Limited since June 2001. He served as a Director of Akzo Nobel India Limited from August 1, 1996 to October 1, 2010. He serves as a Member of the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He is Board member of the Deep C Anand Foundation. He was a Fellow in Sciences at the University of Rochester, USA. Mr. Narayan holds a B.Tech from IIT-Kanpur and holds a L.L.B degree from Kanpur University. He also holds an M.S. from University of Rochester, USA and participated in a Senior Executive Programme at the Manchester Business School, UK. He also attended the Aspen Institute, Colorado, USA in 1998.
