Dr M Ayyappan

Biography

Dr M Ayyappan has been at the helm of HLL Lifecare Limited as Chairman and Managing Director since 2003. He is also the Chairman of HLL Biotech Ltd, Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) and LifeSpring Hospitals Limited, associated organizations of HLL. Dr Ayyappan joined HLL in 1991. After serving in various capacities, he was appointed Director (Marketing) in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed as Managing Director of HLL. Dr Ayyappan took his Bachelors in Engineering from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and did his MBA at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). His career took off from Aluminium Industries Limited (ALIND) followed by Steel Industries Kerala Limited. Dr Ayyappan is the Vice-Chairman and part of the Governing Board at Centre for Management Development, Kerala since 2010. He is the Director of Rehabilitation Plantations Limited since 2003. He also serves as Director of the Kerala chapter of Foundation for Restoration of National Values (FRNV), New Delhi. He is the Fellow Member of All India Management Association and also served as President of Trivandrum Management Association for two years. He is a member of Kerala State Productivity Council and faculty member of University of Kerala. He is the member of various academic institutes including Board of Studies and Futures Studies, University of Kerala, Board of Studies in Management Studies, Advisory Committee of MBA Course at College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and Noorul Islam University, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. He is a member of the Selection Committee set up by Government of Kerala for awarding the best Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) and Chief Executives.
