Ms. Raisa Luther

Biography

  Ms. Raisa Luther holds an MA degree in Psychology and MSc degree in Mental Health from King’s College, London. She holds the credential of International Certified Addiction Professional (ICAP I) awarded by the International Centre for Credentialing and Education of Addiction Professionals (ICCE) under the Colombo Plan. Special areas of interest- Substance abuse (addiction, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis/schizophrenia) Psychological management- She applies a combination of evidence-based techniques of CBT, 12 step facilitation (using the Minnesota model), motivational interviewing and other psychological management tools to various disorders such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, psychosis, substance abuse, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders and dual disorders. Group therapy- Apart from individual therapy, she often facilitates family therapy, group therapy, and therapeutic activities. Further, she formulates and implements aftercare plans and family communication exercises for clients and their families. Workshops and training- Ms. Luther also coordinates workshops at Hope Trust on various topics of mental health and conducts community-based awareness and sensitization programs for adults and adolescents on addiction and related social issues.
