Biography
Molecular characterization and generated DNA barcode for several insects done and deposited in NCBI, USA and Barcode of Life Database (BOLD), Canada Developed functional Microsatelite markers for studying allelic variations among different populations of Helicoverpa armigera Studied the insecticide resistance in Diamondback moth and role of endosymbionts in pesticide degradation Confirmed the occurrence of Chrysoperla zastrowi Sillemi Henry et al., in India Genetic stocks of various populations of C. z. sillemi present in India were collected and occurrence of insecticide resistance in field populations were reported for the first time Developed pesticide tolerant Chrysoperla zastrowi silliemi Developed artificial diets for chrysopid predators and filed a patent for the same. Standardized largescale production, field release of Goniozus nephantidis against coconut blackheaded caterpillar
Research Interest
Presently working on Molecular characterization and DNA barcoding of insects; Insecticide resistance.
