Research Interest
1. DNA Topoisomerase structure, cellular and biochemical functions. 2. Explore the molecular mechanisms of Top 1cc-induced DNA lesions and Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase 1 (TDP1) mediated DNA repair. 3. Explore new DNA repair pathways in mitochondria and the role of mtDNA damage in human diseases. 4. Explore the role of post-translational modifications (PTMs i.e. phosphorylation, acetylation, methylation, ubiquitylation and SUMOylation) of DNA repair proteins and response to anticancer agents. 5. Unravel the functional and biological coupling of Poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase (PARP1) with DNA repair pathways. 6. Explore the molecular mechanism of PARP inhibitors in cancer treatment. 7. Anticancer Drug Discovery: Targeting DNA Topoisomerase with small molecules inhibitors in human cancer.
