research program investigates new diagnostic tools, pathogenesis and innate immunity in severe malaria and epidemiology of drug resistance for P falciparum. The other additional areas include epidemiology and control of reproductive tract infections, molecular epidemiology of G6PD deficiency, intestinal parasitism and nutrition, molecular epidemiology and control of lymphatic filariasis
