Biography
I started as a Junior Research Fellow of UGC at Jadavpur University, followed by Senior Research Fellow of the same university. Then I joined a public sector bank as an Economist (in the scale of a Manager), and then to a Development Finance Institution (DFI) as a Manager (Finance). In these two financial institutions I worked in areas like asset-liability management, risk management, project financing, infrastructure financing, industry and company analysis, policy analysis (impact of monetary policy on the business of bank/financial institution) etc. as been into teaching since 2002.
Research Interest
ncludes subjects (for teaching) and/or areas (for research) like Financial Management, Derivatives and Risk Management, Fixed Income Securities, Infrastructure Financing, Securities Analysis & Portfolio Management, Excel Spreadsheet Modeling in Finance, Performance and Corporate Governance of Family Firms, Financial Markets and Institutions.

Participated actively in Entrepreneurship Development in the Greater Mekong System (GMS) Region and participated as a resource person & faculty & organizer in the programme organized in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in January

A WTO Cell to advise the Government of West Bengal has been created at the Kolkata Campus in 2007 with seed money provided by the Govt. of West Bengal to advise the Government of West Bengal on matters related to foreign trade, WTO and specific sectors of the state’s economy. Involved in the process as a team member – continuing.

Value Chain Analysis of Marine Fishery Sector in West Bengal – sponsored by IFAD, World Food Programme – completed in 2008 – involved as the Team Leader.
