Biography
Mukundhan joined the Strategy area of IIM Tiruchirappalli as an Assistant Professor in April 2015. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani and an FPM in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK). He has worked with Samsung Electronics and Microsoft Corporation (in a full-time vendor setup) on competitive intelligence, patent analytics and research planning assignments in technology areas related to mobile telephony, human-machine interfaces, automotive electronics, systems biology/pathway analysis and electronic payment gateways. At IIM Tiruchirappalli, he has taught and facilitated training sessions on the topics of Competitive Strategy, International Market Entry and Strategic Innovation. His research interests are eclectic and include topics such as global competitive strategy, strategy in temporary organizations, and innovation in for-profit firms. His work has been published in ABDC-indexed, peer-reviewed journals such as the International Studies of Management and Organization (ISMO) and Strategic Change. His research has been presented at various international conferences conducted by the Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of International Business (AIB), Strategic Management Society (SMS) and the British Academy of Management (BAM).
