Biography
Anjana is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), with over 25 years work experience. Prior to turning an entrepreneur, she was a Faculty Member of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Other positions held by her include COO at NSRCEL, IIMB and Vice President, Ernst & Young, heading their due diligence practice for South India. Anjana's areas of expertise are Business Planning, Business Growth, Valuation, M&A, Venture Capital and Funding Strategies and she is a sought out speaker and teacher for workshops and seminars. Her teaching notes on valuation, business growth, funding strategies etc. have been in the TOP 4% of SlideShare Content viewed in 2013; available at www.slideshare.net/anjanavivek. Anjana has authored 3 books and continues to teach at IIMs and write. She was the founding Editor of the Venture Activity Reports of the Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA), for the years 1993-98. The popular courses where Anjana has been one of the Program Directors include the Management Programme for Women Entrepreneurs (MPWE) at IIMB, the Management Development Programme for Women Entrepreneurs (MDPWE) IIM Udaipur, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, New Venture Financing and Corporate Valuation at IIMB. VentureBean Consulting Private Limited (VBC) has been founded by Anjana Vivek with two other Directors, who are alumni of IIMA and IIMB respectively, each having over 20 years work experience. VBC provides strategic consulting and assists in operational implementation and has built a reputation for quality service. This started as an entrepreneurial venture of Anjana in 2005, when she left IIMB, where she was a Faculty member. The consulting venture was incubated by the Nadathur Group, a Venture Capital (VC) and investment company, founded by Shri. N.S.Raghavan, co-founder of Infosys. Post the incubation period, the firm continued to work with a network of Professionals. The company has a range of clients, from VCs to entrepreneurs, from SMEs to multi-nationals and other organisations. VBC now has offices in Bangalore and Delhi and also works on overseas assignments. Anjana is a Mentor at Microsoft Ventures, Venture Advisor at Unitus Seed Fund, Charter Member at TiE Bangalore and is a Co-opted Member of ICAI "Women Members Empowerment Committee" for the year 2014-15. She has held positions in committees of IIMB, ICAI, TiE, KSCAA (Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association) and FKCCI (Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry) among others over the last few years.
