Biography
Prof. Sudip K. Ganguly is a Senior Principal Scientist and Head of Sweetening Area at the CSIR - Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun, India a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, India with 18 years of research experience. His achievements are • Ranked first in B. Tech (Chemical Engg.), HBTI Kanpur, 1988. • Awarded Full Scholarship from Government of Japan for pursuing M. E. (Environmental Engg.) at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. 1991-1993. • Conceptualised, designed and initiated the M.Tech in Advanced Petroleum Science and Technology ciricullum at CSIR-IIP. Functioned as Dean (Academics) during 2009-2015. • Recipient member of the Most Significant CSIR Technology Award 2015 for Technology Development of Thoxcat ES catalyst for LPG Sweetening. The award carried a cash award of Rs 5 Lakh, a plaque and a citation. 26th Sept. 2015.
Research Interest
His research interests include Catalyst/Novel Material Development and Mechanistic Kinetics Studies applicable to refinery sweetening processes. He is presently involved in catalyst development for Fixed bed sweetening of heavier petroleum fractions and commercialisation activities of LPG sweetening catalyst. Prof. Ganguly has published 43 research papers. He is the recipient member of the Most Significant CSIR Technology Award for the year 2015 for the development and commercialization of LPG sweetening catalyst.
