Biography
Dr Sanat Kumar is a Senior Scientist & Head in Wax Rheology Area Separation Process Division in CSIR - Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun. His acheivement are • Development of an environment friendly process for conversion of waste plastics to fuel and aromatics • Development of process for obtaining paraffin grade wax from waste plastics • Recommendation on flowability of RJ Mangla crude oil through pipeline based on extensive rheological and lab scale simulation studies • Development of process for obtaining microcrystalline wax from tank bottom sludges • Development of a process suitable for small scale industries for producing different melting grade microcrystalline waxes • Process for producing emulsifiable waxes from petroleum waxes, which can be a good substitute to imported vegetable waxes • Patent granted -01, patent applied -01

His research interests are • Utilization of waste plastics for various value added products • Rheological studies of waxy petroleum products • Compatibility of various crude oils • Chemistry and formulation of waxes • X-ray diffraction analyses
