Biography
Dr. Soumen Dasgupta is a Scientist in Adsorption and Membranes Area in CSIR - Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun. His acheivement are • Developed a highly regenerable sulphur adsorbent for gasoline and diesel desulphurization • Developed a vapor phase adsorption process for production of BS-IV grade gasoline and diesel • Developed a VSA process for CO2 recovery from power plant flue gas • Developed a VSA process which can produce pipeline grade methane from biogas • CSIR Quick Hire Fellow 2004-2006 • Recipient of CSIR Junior and Senior Research Fellowship 1998-2002 (through Jt. UGC-CSIR NET) • GATE 1996 (AIR 46 in Chemistry), GATE 1997
Research Interest
His research interests are • Adsorptive Desulfurization: Adsorbent and process development for producing Euro IV grade Gasoline and Diesel. • Adsorptive desulphurization process to produce <1 ppm Sulphur diesel for on-board reforming application • Development of CO2 capture adsorbents and process for flue gas • Biogas up-gradation by adsorption • Development of high temperature chemi-sorbents relevant to clean coal technology
