Research Interest
Vaidhyanathan Ramanathan gained his PhD in Chemistry from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, under the supervision of Prof. C. N. R. Rao and Prof. S. Natarajan. His PhD aimed at investigating the synthesis and applications of open-framework metal carboxylates. He then joined the group of Prof. M. J. Rosseinsky at the University of Liverpool, where he investigated the magnetic properties of Co oxide-hydrides, and chiral metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Following this he worked as a Research Associate with Prof. George Shimizu investigating the proton conduction and gas capture applications of MOFs.
