Biography
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I am interested in a wide range of scientific problems, ranging from collective motion of ants, problems driven by surface tension to large scale atmospheric flows. I mainly employ mathematical and computational tools to solve most of my problems. I will soon be starting an experimental program in interfacial fluid dynamics. For more details of my research, please see the Research page on this site. To prospective members of my group: I am always on the look out for bright and motivated students. Whether you are a UG student or a PG student, if you think you have the necessary skills and determination to pursue a serious scientific study in my area of research, write to me at hdixit_at_iith.ac.in or drop in for a chat. If you wish to pursue graduate studies at IIT Hyderabad, you will have to first secure admission to the MTech or PhD program before you write to me.
Research Interest
* Flows dominated by surface tension * Stability and dynamics of vortices * Bluff body wakes and fluid structure interaction * Bio-fluid mechanics
