Biography
Jayshree Chakraborty obtained Ph.D. in linguistics from IIT, Kanpur in 1986 and prior to that, obtained MA (Double) from Allahabad university in 1977 and 1979. Currently, she is an associate professor in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the IIT, Kharagpur. Earlier, she has served Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra as lecturer, senior lecturer and reader in linguistics over the period 1986-2007. The research interests of Dr. Chakraborty are in syntax, semantics, language communication, sociolinguistics and discourse analysis, in which she has guided and also is guiding several Ph.D. students.
