Experimental Rock Mechanics: Deformation and fracture of rock specimens under general uniaxial and triaxial compression; studies on the influence of high temperatures on the compressive strength of the rocks; Laboratory and field investigations on the level of acoustic emission in rocks as well as Electro-Magnetic Radiation (EMR) under uniaxial compression; friction in rocks, measured direct shear-testing machine. Rock Drilling Engineering: experimental investigations on drillability studies; design and fabrication of instrumentation for measuring drilling forces under different operating conditions Underground Metal Mining: Mine Development and Methods of working underground metal mine; development of underground large caverns and repositories.
