Biography
Santanu Kapat is an Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur.
Research Interest
My research interests include Digital and Nonlinear Control of Switched Mode Power Converters, and applications to Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS)-enabled embedded processors, mutli-core processors, Envelope Tracking Power Aplifiers, LED Drivers, and Distributed DC Nanogrid. This include 48V-Direct-to-PoL applications, combined inductive and switched capacitor converters, PM Bus, active buffers, etc. My group extensively develops digital power management architectures. We have state-of-the-art hardware development and test facilities. All our ideas are prototyped using PCB and digital controllers are implemented using FPGA devices. We would like to take some of our designs to IC levels.
