Biography
Dr. N. Arunachalam received his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai in 2010. He worked as a Research Engineer at General Electric, Global Research centre, Bangalore, India for three years from 2011 to 2013 before joining IIT Madras. His research interests center around Sustainable Manufacturing, which includes Industry 4.0 Implementation and Practices Sensor integrated tooling development Development of Physics/Data driven Predictive models to assess the process induced damage in grinding, milling, EDM and 3-D printing processes Prognostics and health management of machine tools (PHMMT) High Performance machining and Grinding Advanced micro and nano level polishing process development Non-contact surface characterization techniques
