Biography
Dr. Shankar Krishnapillai is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). He obtained his bachelors degree (BTech) in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum (Kerala University) in 1988. He holds a Doctorate (DPhil) from the University of Oxford, UK in 1996 in the area of structural dynamics. Thereafter he has worked at the NASA Johnson Space Center, USA and held a teaching position at the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Singapore.
Research Interest
His current research interests include Structural Vibrations, Machine Design, Optimization Methods, System Identification, and Socially Relevant Technology.
