Biography
I obtained my PhD from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore in the area of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. My doctoral work was on seismic hazard assessment using deterministic and probabilistic approaches, geotechnical and geophysical tests for seismic site characterization at micro-level of a nuclear power plant site, evaluation of low strain modulus profile, development of a correlation between shear wave velocity and SPT-N value, site response and liquefaction hazard assessment and quantitative assessment of earthquake landslide for a vast area using Newmark’s approach. After my PhD, I continued working at IISc Bangalore as a post-doctoral research associate. My post-doctoral work was mainly focused on the experimental investigation liquefaction behaviour of sand-bentonite mixture, dynamic characterization and site response studies of marine soils based on field and laboratory testing. From July 2015 to June 2016, I was Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad campus. I joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar on July 2016.
