Biography
Baldev Singh Dhillon obtained his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Panjab University, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, respectively. He worked at UH, Germany and University of Birmingham, UK, joined PAU and worked as Assistant Maize Breeder, Maize Breeder, Senior Maize Breeder, Director (Seeds) (1974-98) and Director of Research (2005-07). He was a DAAD post-doctoral Fellow (1976-78) and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (1988-89) at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. He served Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) (1998-2005) as Asst. Director General and Director, National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi. He also served Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, as Director of Research (July-Oct 2007) and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, Mexico as Associate Scientist (1993-94). He joined University of Hohenheim, Germany in 2007.
