Biography
Dr. B.S. Murty is a Professor of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Madras since 2004 and is currently the Head of the Department. He started his career in Metallurgical Engineering with a Diploma (1983) from Government Polytechnic, Vijayawada. He obtained his BE from VRCE, Nagpur (1986), ME (1988) and PhD (1992) from IISc, Bangalore. He has started his professional career as a faculty member at IIT Kharagpur and served there during 1992-2004. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada since 2011 and Associate Faculty of School of Engineering, University of British Columbia, Kelowna, Canada.
