Biography
Dr. Deepak Chandra Srivastava has had a distinguished record of educational career all through in distinction, including B. Sc. (Hons)., M.Sc., and M. Phil in 1975, 1977 and 1979, respectively, both in First rank and First division from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. By virtue of having obtained First rank in M.Sc., he received ISM Medal and Sir Henry Hayden Medal from Mining Metallurgical and Geological Society of India. Having completed his Ph.D. course of studies in his alma mater in 1982, he started his career as Lecturer at the Dept. of Earth Sciences, University of Roorkee (Now IIT Roorkee), and rose to the position of Professor in June, 2001 in the same department. He is also a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Banglore and that of the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad and, a winner of National Mineral Award.
