Biography
Deepak Kaul earned his BSc degree from J&K University, MSc from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (WB) and PhD degree (1978) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).He took upon himself to develop “Molecular Biology Unit” (M.B.U) in the year 1983 after joining a leading National Medical Institute designated as “Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research” (P.G.I.M.E.R), Chandigarh - 160012 (INDIA) as a faculty member (Molecular Biology Specialty) in the department of “Experimental Medicine” that was unique at the time in our Nation’s history. Dr. Kaul’s main aim behind establishing such a unit was not only to satisfy his creative scientific-quest but also to develop human resource for carrying forward the flag of “Molecular Basis of Health & Disease” recognized widely now as “Molecular Medicine”, to address health problems of mankind both with global and national prospective.
