Biography

ECG Sudarshan did his PhD (1958) from University of Rochester, USA and was awarded the DSc (hc), University of Wisconsin (1969), University of Delhi (1973). He specialized in quantum electrodynamics, particle physics. He served as the Associate Professor, University of Rochester, Professor and Director, Research Program in Elementary Particles, Syracuse University, Professor, Center for Particle Theory, University of Texas, Austin, Senior Professor, Centre for Theoretical Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Professor, University of Berne, Switzerland (1964-65), Sir CV Raman Distinguished Visiting Professor, University of Madras (1972-73), Jubilems Professor, Chalmers University of Goteborg, Sweden and Distinguished Visiting Scholar, Rice University of Houstan, USA.
