Biography
Professor Jacob Palis Jr. is an outstanding mathematician with significant contributions in many areas of mathematics, particularly on the diverse questions in the theory of Dynamical Systems - bifurcations and stability, study of homoclinic orbits and the properties of attractors. He has collaborated extensively with the best minds like Takens, Newhouse and Yoccoz. Professor Palis has numerous publications in top mathematics journals like Annals of Mathematics, Inventione Math, Asterisque which bear ample testimony for his excellence in mathematical contributions.
