Biography
Jayanta Kumar Ghosh obtained his DPhil degree from Calcutta University. He was a Lecturer at Calcutta University (1962-64) after which he joined the Indian Statistical Institute, (ISI), Kolkata where he rose to the position of Director and Jawaharlal Nehru Professor. He held a visiting position at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign briefly. Currently he is Professor Emeritus at ISI and Professor at Purdue University.
