Biography
Kalyan Banerjee obtained MBBS (1961) and PhD (1968) degrees from the University of Calcutta. His areas of specialization are general virology, viral immunology and epidemiology of viral diseases. He was Assistant Director (1973-76), Deputy Director (1976-83), Scientist (Director's grade) (1983-88), and Director (1988), National Institute of Virology, Pune.
