Biography
Dr Lalji Singh, obtained his MSc and PhD from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He was Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate, Edinburgh University, UK; Visiting Fellow, National University, Australia; and Visiting Scientist, Edinburgh University, UK. He taught BSc and MSc students in the Zoology Department, Banaras Hindu University (1966-71), and conducted practical classes on in situ hybridization for students at the Institute of Animal Genetics, University of Edinburgh (1978-87). He joined Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (1987) and became its Director (1998). He was also Officer on Special Duty (1995-99) to establish the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD).
