Biography

Professor Sur is one of the most distinguished neuroscientists. His major research contributions deal with Plasticity Dynamics of the Cerebral Cortex, Experimental & Computational approaches to neural networks and processing, Cognitive Neuroscience and Developmental Disorders of the Brains. His demonstration of the visual and auditory system complementarily has been declared a path breaking event in neuroscience. He has experimentally established the reprogramming of cortex as a consequence of cross-modal plasticity during development - in short "How The Brain Wires & Rewires Itself”. He has published over 200 scientific papers in some of the most prestigious journals like Nature, Neuron, Cell, Science, PNAS etc.
