Biography
Mandayam Anandampillai Lakshmi Thathachar obtained the BE (Electrical Engineering) from Mysore University, and ME (Power Engineering) and PhD (Control Systems) degrees from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He worked as Faculty Member at IIT Madras for a couple of years, then joined Faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department at IISc (1964), and continued to work there as Professor, Chairman of the Department and also of the Division up to his retirement (2001). He was Visiting Professor at Yale University, Michigan State University, Concordia University and at the National University of Singapore.
