Biography
Manohar Lal Munjal earned his BSc (Engg Hons) degree (1966) in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab University, ME (Distinction) (1968) in Internal Combustion Engineering and PhD (1971) from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He has been on the Faculty of IISc since 1968. He was Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (1991-94) and of the Division of Mechanical Sciences (1999-2005). He was Convener of the Chairmen of Divisions (2003-05). On sabbatical leave from the Institute, he visited Technical University of Berlin (1979-80), University of Calgary (1986-87), Nelson Industries, Wisconsin (1987) and Ford Motor, Michigan (1994-95).
